ITACA promotes a sustainable economic & spatial development based on a better integration between preservation of nature and its wise  economic exploitation via eco-tourism linked to forestry & wetlands of which the territories involved are rich.

MISTER
Military and Industrial SiTEs Reuse
MISTER intends to design and test a new set of integrated actions embracing restructuring and renewal of the towns via a reuse of brown-fields (eg dismissed industrial areas & formerly military sites) as an alternative of extensive urban growth.

SUVOT
Sustainable and Vocational Tourism
SUVOT aims to strengthen the "Network of Cities for Sustainable Tourism", enlarging its activities and including the vocational tourism as potential strong driven-market force towards sustainability. Vocational Tourism is a new type of tourism based on personal values and specific interests: people living in different areas but with common sensibilities, interests, tastes and values (heritage, nature, biological food, sport & wellness, outdoor activities), in particular toward a more genuine and healthy lifestyle.
